b) How many moles of bricks has a mass equal to the mass of the Earth

1 Answer

  • => 1 mole of bricks = 6.022 × 10^23 bricks

    Mass of 1 mole of brick = 1 mole of bricks × mass of each brick

    = 6.022 × 10^23 × 4 = 24.088 × 10^23 kg

    b) x bricks × mass of a brick = mass of earth

    x = mass of earth / (mass of a brick)

    = 6 × 10^27 / (4000) = 1.5 × 10^24 bricks

    Moles of brick = 1.5 × 10^24 / (6.022 × 10^23) ≈ 2.5 moles

    Hence 2.5 moles of bricks have mass equal to mass of earth
