  • Blanket is a rectangle.

    Let width be x feet

    So length is x + 2 feet

    Area of rectangle is length * breadth

    So,

    24 = x*(x+2)

    x^2 + 2x -24 = 0

    X^2 + 6x – 4x -24 = 0

    X(x + 6) – 4(x + 6) = 0

    (x-4)(x+6) = 0

    Therefore x = 4,-6

    Since breadth can’t be negative, x= 4

    Which means length = 6

  • width – 4 ft

    length – 6 ft

    6 x 4 = 24
