i just bought some today. i have нᴀʀᴅcoʀᴇ insomnia. its almost 4:30 am and im still awake. should i take it? anyone who’s tried it, how is it? does it work and if so will i be asleep all day tomorrow and drowsy when i get up?

All ZZZquil is a clever marketing scheme, as a “sleeping aid”. It is only diphenhydramine, which is the ingredient in Benadryl, an over the counter allergy medicine.
You are paying a premium for this ZZZquil. Benadryl’s main side effect is drowsiness (“do not drive or operate machinery while taking, blah, blah, blah”).
If you go to the allergy/cold aisle of your local drugstore, you can buy the generic version of this for less than half the price.
It keeps you tired for about 6 hours, so you don’t want to take it too close to the time when you have to get up for work or school.
If you’ve ever taken Benadryl, you already know how it works. It won’t leave you with a hangover the next day.

I have severe sleeping problems and Zzzquil doesn’t almost nothing for me. I feel ever-so-slightly groggy, but nowhere near enough to actually sleep. It just varies from person to person. Some people I know claim it’s the best sleep-aid they’ve ever had, others (like me) feel it doesn’t work at all.
