You see me and a couple of my friends were bordd in my 4th period so we decided to draw all over my friends leg with marker. Turns out he got ink poisoning from it and i want to know if its deadlyy. hes onn meds. i know stupid idea right?

It all depends how much ink it was. Because if it was a small amount, your body will fight it off. But if it is alot , it can damage your cells, and yes, eventually kill you

There is growing serious concerns with the toxicity of the components of modern tattoos ink. Modern tattoo ink is a toxic soup of heavy metals and carcinogens, that slips through the cracks of government safety regulations because tattoo inks occupy a difficult-to-define zone—are they cosmetic or medical substances? although they are injected into your living tissues, the inks are classed as cosmetics and so not covered by FDA regulations. And so the ingredients that are used in the pigments are injected into your tissues, and may contain not only lead and αɾꜱεnic, but also antimony, beryllium, chromium, cobalt, and nickel — metals that are linked to health problems and cancers in people. Research already has shown that tattoo inks can migrate into people’s lymph nodes. Black tattoo inks, also contain products of combustion called polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), The PAHs in the inks include benzo(a)pyrene, which was identified in an Environmental Protection Agency toxicity report as “among the most potent and well-documented skin carcinogens.” It is so potent that it is routinely used in animal tests to grow tumors. Also, it has been linked to skin cancer in shale oil workers, and the EPA has classified it as a probable human carcinogen. A recent European report said ” most chemicals used in tattoos were industrial pigments originally used for other purposes, such as automobile paints or writing inks, and there was little or no safety data to support their use in tattoos.” There is a growing body of knowledge on this area that should make anyone considering a tattoo to pause. At the very least, insist that the artist tell you in advance what brand of ink they use and any information they have about its ingredients. Check on line to see if it is safe. BTW, Inks sold by Huck Spaulding Enterprises, Inc., and Superior Tattoo Equipment Co., contain dangerous ingredients. These companies were sued by American Environmental Safety Institute (AESI) because of their toxic tattoo inks. Be sure you are tattooed with safe ink! . well i’ve heard about dying from it… I’m sure it’s not anything. My guy friend writes all over my hands and arms and i’m fine. Don’t worry about it! 🙂
