  • Red red Wine was written by NEIL DIAMOND in 1968, also peformed by Bob Marley about that same year, but never became as big of a hit as Jamaican group UB40 had with it in 1982.

  • No. Neil Diamond wrote it, Marley never recorded the song. Marley’s Jamaican countryman, Tony Tribe recorded the song in 1969. UB40 covered it in 1983. It is an urban myth that Marley ever recorded the song.

  • Normally, I can think of a song and imagine another artist singing it.

I tried to do that with this one and just can’t make the connection. Red Red Wine is way too poppy.

But, that could be an interesting topic. Imagine Bob Marley singing ‘My Humps’.
