I’m righting a paper on Rock and Roll and i want to know if it is grammatically incorrect to right rock and roll instead of Rock and Roll.

No, it doesn’t need to be capitalized, just like rap, hip hop, pop, jazz, etc don’t need to be capitalized. I don’t think it’s actually incorrect to capitalize the Rs, but it isn’t necessary.

The name was originally Rock n’ Roll so yeah I capitalize them since it was a name gaven to the genre.
