what reagents are needed to prepare CH3CH2CH2CH2C(triple bond)CH from CH3(CH2)3CH(double bond)CH2. select all that apply:

-CH3Cl

– NaH

-BH3

-HBr

-POCl3 in pyridine

-Cl2

-H2SO4 (2 equiv)

  • How about doing a double elimination of halogens from the saturated compound, which is obtained by halogenating the double bond?

    To do the double elimination you will require a very strong base.

  • Given this choice of reagents, do the chlorination first (Cl2) and then do an elimination with KO-t-Bu. That will give you the acetylene.

  • organic and organic is meant to be complicated … I controlled to stay away from taking it …. yet i might say in case you think of which you would be able to get right into a learn team and bypass the class regardless then i might only take the class and get it out of ways… sturdy good fortune
