How many cm^3 are contained in 3.77 * 10^4 mm^3?

I think I have the answer but I need to know how to set it up correctly…

    therefore…

    3.77×10^4 mm³ x (1 cm / 10 mm)³ = 37.7 cm³

    it explains the math.. which is called “factor label method” or “dimensional analysis” in some groups.

  • Easiest way to remember is that you move the decimal the unit difference x the power. So it this case, 1 x 3. So the answer is 3.77E1 or 37.7 cm^3.

    Another example would be if you were converting the same to m^3 instead. mm to cm to dm to m, so it is a decimal move of 3 x 3 or 9, or 3.77E-5.
