heres my story. so i was playin battlefront 2 as happy as could be. started buying other games witch added up to 60 dollers. when i was done i decided to just leave it on all night. probibly 24/7. so eventualy the screen just when blank so i was like oh it just whent to sleep. but a few minuts later the screen lit up. thier was no display just black but you could tell the monitor was on. so i whent up and wiggled the mouse and pressed the keys witch your spose to to wake it up. well no matter what it wouldnt wake up. so i whent to power it off buy pressing the power button on the front. that wouldnt work so i flipped the switch on the back witch turned it off. now it wont turn back on! this has happend before and i had my computer wiz friend come over. he plugged it in and it startd rite up! i think he just got extremely lucky. but this time it wont turn on, its pissing me off. i put almost $1,000 into this mechine. plus the games i just bought for it. i thought it was fixed but no. ofcourse not. not for me! so has anyone else ha this problem and what did you do to correct it?

I’m kinda tired so might not be able to remember all possible causes but here’s a few off the top of my head.
Most likely I believe is heat (has happened to me), check temps of all items (Power supply, Vid card, CPU, HDD, Motherboard) and make sure they’re not operating above safe working temperature. Which can be why the computer didn’t start back up straight away but did after your friend come over (it cooled down)
Other reasons could be bad drivers, sounds odd but the wrong drivers can really screw up a computer.
Or you could have a bad power supply, motherboard or video card.
I’d start with the heat testing first, you can Google for some programs if you don’t already have them to record temperature logs and compare them with the working temps of the components in their respective manuals. If the temp is to high you need to take steps to lower them either by better air circulation, better fans, more fans or if it’s the CPU check the thermal paste. If it’s bad drivers it’s a simple fix, just search the net and get updated ones, uninstall the old and install the new.
Lastly if it still hasn’t been fixed, then you can try troubleshooting the hardware, which without technical knowledge of the inner workings of said hardware (as in if something was broken) you’ll have to do trial and error by plugging in working versions of each part you’re troubleshooting, do one part at a time so you know which one is the broken one. If you don’t have spares you could get the cheapest generic items that are compatible to test as it would only be temporary until you replace the broken part.
Hope I helped

how do you know it didnt power off? you should see a power light on your motherboard. you could have a loose video card, you could have a bad monitor. heck a bad power supply. overloaded power supply. my best advice is bring it to a local computer shop that isnt big box and ask them to look at it. and i should also note that you cant just press the power button and it’ll turn off. you will have to press and hold.

Set your power settings (in control panel) to never turn the monitor off. But if it won’t turn on, then suspect either a defective power supply or motherboard.

No I like my computer. If I can’t get on the Internet then I play games offline.

try a different monitor, it sounds like the monitor lamp is dying.
