  • y = 4x-3

    interchange x and y

    x = 4y -3

    4y = x+3

    y = (x+3)/4………….(i)

    Hence f^-1 (x) =(x+3)/4……………….Ans

  • f^-1(x) is simply saying what would happen if x and f(x) were switched:

    f(x) = 4x – 3

    (f(x) + 3)/4 = x

    switch:

    f^-1(x) = (x+3)/4

  • f^-1 (x) = (x+3)/4

    You switch the variables and solve like this:
