1.5 squirrels eat 1.5 nuts in 1.5 days
=> 1 squirrel eats 1 nut in 1.5 days
=> 1 squirrel eats 6 nuts in 9 days ( 9/1.5 = 6)
=> 9 squirrels eat 54 nuts in 9 days.

One squirrel will take 1.5 days to eat 1.5 nuts, because the 1/2 squirrel doesn’t eat anything– half a squirrel is a dead squirrel. The rate is thus established as 1 nut per day (per whole, live squirrel). 9 squirrels will eat 9 nuts per day, and in 9 days will eat 81 nuts.
Now, if you assume “one and 1/2 squirrels eat one and 1/2 nuts in one and 1/2 days” is based on an average of actual whole squirrels,
1.5 squirrels are consuming 1 nut a day, or 2/3rds of a nut per day per squirrel, so the total nuts for 9 squirrels a day would be 6 and the total in 9 days would be 54. But I still say a half a squirrel doesn’t eat at all.

Same thing… 1 1/2 days. But where the hell did you get a half squirrel from?

1.5/1.5=1
so 1*9=9
and 9*9=81
81 nuts
cuz 1.5 squirrels eats 1.5 nuts in 1.5 days so it is the same as
1 squirrel eats 1 nut in 1 day
so 1 squirrel will eat 9 nut in 9 days
but there is 9 squirrels so 9*9=81 nuts
