In the first problem it would appear that the volume is held constant.
P1/T1 = P2T2
T2 = P2T1 / P1
T2 = (2P1)T1 / P1 ……. P1 cancels out
T2 = 2T1 ………………… double the temp to double the pressure
In the second problem it appears that T is held constant.
P1V1 = P2V2
V2 = P1V1 / P2
V2 = P1V1 / (2P1) ……….. P1 cancels out
V2 = V1 / 2 …………………. cut the volume in half to double the pressure
