I have an account at gmail dot com. Recently I’ve been getting emails written in french from a certain site (looks like a game) addressed to the same username but at gmail.fr.
I tried emailing the .fr address to tell that person to fix their account, and the message couldn’t be delivered.
Is gmail.fr a genuine email provider? Or am I just getting spammed by this site?
I’ve already marked the email as spam and checked that the sender is a real site. The question is whether there’s someone else who WANTS these emails and isn’t getting them.

Well if you don’t know it or them that’s sending it to you, don’t open it or reply to it. Why chance it.
Just go into your options/settings & block it.
Now me, instead of opening it, what I do is I right click it & get the senders information then read the information. I get all the addresses with .com .net & any other internet information from it, then copy & paste it in my block column so I’m not bothered by the sender or anyone that it was related to sending it in the first place.

gmail.fr simply means that the email address is from France, as .fr is France’s domain extension much like .au is Australia’s.
