  • 4(3-x)^4/3 -5 = 59…….add 5 both sides

    4(3 – x)4/3 = 64……….divide all by 4

    (3 – x)4/3 = 16……….square root both sides

    (3 – x)2/3 = 4……….square roots both sides

    ³√(3 – x) = 2………..cube both sides

    (3 – x) = 8

    x = -5…………..answer

  • Well, I’m a little sketchy, because I’m a little confused about if (3-x) is to the forth or the four-thirds, but here it goes

    4(3-x)^4/3 -5 = 59

    4(3-x)^4/3 = 64

    (3-x)^4/3 = 16

    (3-x)^4/3 = (8)^(4/3)

    (3-x) = 8 ( the exponents cancel out since they are the same)

    -x=5

    x=5
