I was eating my pb&j and dropped a piece, which was as big as 1/8 of a reg. piece of paper.
There was about 1-1 1/2 table spoons of jelly on that piece.
She caught the piece and ran away with it, i chased after her screaming, and she got scared and let go. She ate most of the jelly, and I checked the ingredients on the jelly, and it says concord g ɾąքҽ s, and I know dogs cant eat g ɾąքҽ s!
Will she be okay? WHat should I i do?
thanks
by the way,
shes a chihuahua

My Dog Ate A G ɾąքҽ
-
I used to feed all my dogs g ɾąքҽ s while I was growing up and until I got this one a year ago, I had no idea that they weren’t supposed to have them. My friend had a Golden Retriever for 14 years that ate g ɾąքҽ s everyday. Her grand dad used to get them fresh for her and when they were out of season, he’d pay like 4 bucks for a pound of them. The dog ate TONS of g ɾąքҽ s and no problems.
SO, since there is very little g ɾąքҽ in g ɾąքҽ jelly and it was only a small amount, don’t worry. If it’d make you feel better, call your local ER vet or your vet’s office if they are open and check. But I really don’t think you have anything to worrry about. I know that gut feeling you get when your dog eats something it’s not supposed to…it really gets you. Mine ate, a crayon last month, then he ate a bunch of pieces of plastic and I had to give him a vaseline sandwich to make it pass ok. They drive ya nuts, don’t they? …but we love em!

Watch for any signs of illness especially vomiting diarrhea and shaking. Most likely your dog didn’t ingest enough g ɾąքҽ from the jelly to due any harm. You may want to place a call with your vet to be on the safe side though. It’s not something to mess around with. If she just ate the bit of sandwich you could induce vomiting with a little hydrogen peroxide, given orally.

Well is she acting any diffrent? Has she vomited? Is her behaveor diffrent? Check for those symthoms. But there is little accual g ɾąքҽ s in the jelly. Because it has many other agrendients in it that have more then jelly. So there shouldn’t be much to worry about. But if she is showing any symthoms then you should call a vet to talk to to see is she should be taken in. Or you could call now and ask. Because I’m sure a vet would know more then me because I’m not a vet. It is free just to ask a vet to see if she should be taken in.

I think when they were referring to dogs eating g ɾąքҽ s…they mean lots of g ɾąքҽ s over a long period of time. Even tiny amounts of chocolate won’t hurt a dog. Like everyone else said…isn’t to much g ɾąքҽ in jelly anyhow. Your dog should be fine…considering she didn’t really ingest much anyways.

6 ponds for he,r thats a lot of g ɾąքҽ s for your dog. You cant do anything really if you take to the vet they cant take it out of her tummy. Its known to lead to either heart or kidney failure dont know. But just be watchful any thing bad happening then take her to the vet.

your dog will probably be okay because dogs just can’t eat g ɾąքҽ s because its bad for their liver. its not like chocolate or anything. and anyways, your jam has very little g ɾąքҽ in it.
don’t worry too much. <3

She should be okay, actually there is very little “g ɾąքҽ ” in g ɾąքҽ jelly. It’s mostly water and geletin.
