I have homework and I’m so lost. Here is a link to the image to which the questions apply:

a) What is the x-component of vector E of the figure in terms of the angle theta and the magnitude E?

b) What is the y-component of vector E of the figure in terms of the angle theta and the magnitude E?

c) For the same vector, what is the x-component in terms of the angle phi and the magnitude E?

Also Check This  what does co-constitutive mean?

d) For the same vector, what is the y-component in terms of the angle phi and the magnitude E?

Express answer in terms of the variables phi and E

1 Answer

  • A) Ex = -Ecos(theta)

    B) Ey = +E*sin(theta)

    C) Ex = -E*sin(phi)

    D) Ey = +E*cos(phi)

This problem is nothing more than a simple vector component production problem. All you need is a simple understanding of how the trigonometry functions were each defined.
