Oblivion won’t launch on Steam?

When I click play, the only thing that pops up is the small grey box with, “Preparing to launch The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion…” and doesn’t load the start menu. I have no mods installed, and it doesn’t need updating. It’s launching Skyrim and Morrowind just fine. I was just playing Oblivion earlier today, so I don’t know what the problem could be. Any solutions?

  • edit:Try repairing Oblivion by going to your Steam Library and right clicking Oblivion and choosing properties then local files.Next click verify integrity of game cache.piece of advice do this when you get ready to go to bed as it’s going to take a while. If any parts of the game are corrupted they’ll be reacquired and installed by the Steam client.

  • same here, some thing is up with Steam cloud sync it merely won’t be able to seem to end syncing no mater how lots time you wait for it. merely initiate Steam in offline mode and play your activity.

  • restart steam or your computer. if that doesnt work, you may have to reinstall it. if you do reinstall, you wont lose any progress bc its all saved to the steam cloud.
