looking down from a stationary tree branch, a merry-go-round with a 1 meter radius spins in a counter-clockwise direction with an angular velocity of 1 radian per second. fro your viewpoint, a bird of mass 0.2 kg flies in a straight line over the axis of the merry-go-round at a uniform speed of 2 ms. consider three instants: when the bird first crosses the outer edge of the merry-go-round when the bird crosses the center of the merry-go-round and, finally, when the bird finally crosses the outer edge of the merry-go-round. for each of the three moments, draw a picture of the frame of reference stationary with respect to the earth, and a picture of the frame stationary with respect to the merry-go-round. for each of the three moments, asnwer the following questions.
a) to an observer on the merry-go-round, illustate the direction of the coriolis pseudo-force that seems to act on the bird.
b) to an observer on the merry-go-round, illustrate the direction of the centrifugal pseudo-force that seems to act on the bird.

You will be able to go to college and then take the classes you need for pre-med. It is not usually a major, you just speak to the guidance counselor and she/he will help you figure out the best classes to help you get into medical school. You will need to do well in Biology and anatomy. You will need to take a lot of Science and Math classes to give you a good background for medical school. Also, I know someone who became an EMT while in college and then later applied to Med school. If you like being an EMT, you will probably like being a doctor. Medical school is a huge commitment, financially and educationally. You will be paying off loans for a long time. Make sure you really want it. There are many related fields that are less known (ie. respertory therapy, Physician’s Assistant, nurses, and other technicians). Don’t think that you are limited to MD. Good luck.

I believe in your pre-lab you are using figures 9 and 10 in your prelab book. More accurately is figure 11 that demonstrates the trajectory of a bird flying at uniform speed in a straight line over a merry-go-round rotating in the counter-clockwise direction.
