Spybot freezes almost at the end of scan why ?

it runs for almost the complete scan but when it gets to directories it freezes any ideas what may be causing this

At the very end of the scan Spybot appears to freeze but its actually checking your cookies etc, I know after mine says its done it takes about 2-3 minutes to actually finish up what its scanning in the background before I can actually do anything with it. Try giving spybot a few extra minutes to run and if that doesn’t work re-install and try again or use Malwarebytes’ Anti Malware, which you can find easily on google and works just as well with the option to do a “Quick Scan” (itll only check your C/Windows folder).
