Seen someone with this tattoo across the chest, anyone shed a light on what this means? I know it is from the bible. Thanks any input is appreciated.

A saying from the Bible’s story of Cain and Abel. After Cain had murdered his brother Abel, God asked him where his brother was. Cain answered, “I know not; am I my brother’s keeper?”
# Cain’s words have come to symbolize people’s unwillingness to accept responsibility for the welfare of their fellows — their “brothers” in the extended sense of the term. The tradition of Judaism, Christianity and Islam is that people do have this responsibility.

One of the things that’s peculiar about Islam among world religions is the extremely strong sense of comraderie between Muslims. Muslims are not supposed to speak ill of each other or undermine each other unless it’s absolutely necessary to defend another person. Part of the philosophy of Islam is that all the believers belong to a special family, and therefore have special status and are supposed to act almost as a single entity whenever possible. Obviously not all Muslims practice this part of their faith to a great extent, but that’s probably where the expression comes from.

It s “roots” are biblical. Cain said “am I my brothers keeper?” thereby renouncing any responsibility for his brother. The Tattoo you saw means the opposite of that. Bikers in particular are protective of their Brotherhood. “I am my Brothers keeper”, means that you will faithfully protect and guide your Brother.
