  • if you want a more in depth answer add more to your question. They really do study earthquakes and seismic wave activity. Seismic waves are the waves of energy caused by the sudden breaking of rock within the earth or an explosion. They are the energy that travels through the earth and is recorded on seismographs.

p.s.-if you are interested in a career in seismology go to the second link i provided to find out about geoscientists (which is the field a seismologist is in) actual job requirements and pay and all that fun stuff.

  • They study and follow earthquakes all around the world – which has hundreds daily but most are unnoticeable to humans.

  • Indeed you did. You could have Googled it for nothing. But then you could have run afoul of the plagiarism check. Right?
