What does “Characters Welcome” mean, when they advertise a TV show?

NetherCraft 0

I hear this phrase almost every time a program is advertised, on certain networks, and I’m curious, as to just what this means! ~ Are they requesting certain people to watch, or, are they seeking participants?

Guess I’m just stupid, or something, because, even with an answer, I still do not know what this phrase means!

So, they’re not really welcoming anyone? ~ Duh???

  • That’s USA Networks’ slogan “Characters Welcome”. It’s in reference to their tv shows. For example, Monk is a character, the guys from Psych are characters, etc. It’s just a gimmick to get you to remember the network so you’ll watch their shows.

If you like Lost you should check out Fringe it’s another show made by J.J Abrams. The character Walter Bishop will get you hooked alone. He is a very random person with moments were he can think straight and he can be very scary. He always has a craving for something, does drugs, and the list goes on very fun to watch John Nobel’s character the 3rd season has just finished and a 4th is coming out. And from the look of your list you have not seen Dexter he is a serial killer that works in the blood part of forensics at a police station.

  • characters advertise tv show

  • People use the expression “he’s quite a character” when someone is weird or different. So I guess USA is inviting characters to watch their programs.

  • They are inviting anyone to come and watch. You know when people say ” You’re a character. ” ? Well , any sort of ” character ” is welcome.

    Hope this helps.

  • “Characters Welcome” is a tagline used by the USA Network to “brand” their network. They decided on the phrase because dedicated USA viewers tended to say that they watch USA shows because of the “strong, relatable characters”.

  • Don’t believe that is accurate

  • they are telling aspiring acters/actresses that there are acting (character) positions available, come one, come all, they don t discriminate if u r abit unusual, that is what they prefer, Real People, as long as you can act.

  • I just heard an interview AND I am appalled by the absolute idiotic remark that this Country basically would not exist unless we had slavery. This Country was settled by those who wanted freedom and freedom to practice their religion. Which in today’s climate Christianity is being attacked. Next the first slave owner in this Country was Black.
