  • I have never heard of the song or band…. but If somebody said they were “miserable at best” it would mean they are in such a fowl mood that day that being miserable is the best they could hope for.

Its probably one of my fave Mayday Parade songs..

It means the best he can possibly feel without her is miserable.

Basically, it just emphasizes the point on how much he loves her, and how without her, he’s super depressed.

  • I LOVE THAT BAND! What miserable at best means is that she doesn’t want him so he is just going to live being miserable. He is saying its better for her if thats what she wants.

“I can’t live without you but without you I’ll be miserable at best.”

  • as well as the above asnwer, I would also say that it means that someone is still miserable even when in their best mood possible – ie they are always miserable, but sometimes less so!
