What does “Sam Crowe” stand for in “Sons of Anarchy”?

SAMCRO stands for

Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club Redwood Original

Which if you don’t know what that means:

Redwood Original is the mother chapter. They table that they sit around when in ‘church’ with the ingraved reaper is made of redwood. And the Original 9 was started there, they are the only chapter to have anything like that, making them the Redwood Original.

The patches on their cut say Redwood Original as well to indicate they are the mother chapter. My dad is in a motorcycle club as well and he is in the mother chapter, but they wear patches that simply say ‘Mother Chapter’. I personally like the creativity of ‘Redwood Original.’
