It doesn’t mean anything, it’s gibberish. On an animated television show called Jonny Quest, or the Adventures of Jonny Quest, a character named Hadji used to say it when doing magic.

It’s was the stage trademark of Harry August Jansen (October 3, 1883 – June 15, 1955), a professional magician of Danish descent, to utter three nonsense words: “Sim Sala Bim”, taken from the lyrics of a Danish nursery rhyme, to thank for applause. Some think this magic phrase originated in Scandinavian folklore, imitating Arabic or Turkish phrases, maybe imitating the prayer “b-ismi-llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi” (‘In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful’).

The Magician from middle east or south asia always say Sim salabim when conjure something like the magician from west say Voila. Sim salabim actually doesn’t have any meaning.

In Dutch, “Sim sala bim” are nonsense words used by magicians, similar to hocus pocus or abracadabra.

It was a “catchphrase” sort of for the indian boy on the animated show “johnny quest” I am not sure if it really meant anything as much as hanna barbera were just racist lol
