  • He will be alright – just don’t let him have any more.

Bear 2 zealand: A Funyun is a snack in the shape of an onion ring flavored with onion powder.

  • I dont know what a funyun is but I’m presuming Chocolate bar.

Is it real chocolate? Is it milk or dark? and how much chocolate?

edit: see people are saying it’s an onion flavoured snack!

If it is then it’s probably OK if she only ate one! I’d be prepared to clean up after her shortly though! Corn and Onion powder is not a good combination. Dogs cannot digest corn very well! I doubt that much onion would hurt her!

Sorry to contradict someone on here but Heather B is very wrong. Actual Onions can seriously harm or even kill your dog and apple should never be given whole. The seeds contain cyanide and a small dog like yours could chew them! If you give fruit avoid pips from apples and pears and NEVER give g ɾąքҽ s or raisins!

  • I’m assuming a funyun is a fried onion. Here’s some info on onions and dogs.

Onions and garlic contain the toxic ingredient thiosulphate. Onions are more of a danger.

Pets affected by onion toxicity will develop haemolytic anaemia, where the pet’s red blood cells burst while circulating in its body. Symptoms include Hemolytic Anemia, labored breathing, liver damage, vomiting, diarrhea, discolored urine.

The poisoning occurs a few days after the pet has eaten the onion. All forms of onion can be a problem including dehydrated onions, raw onions, cooked onions and table scraps containing cooked onions and/or garlic. Left over pizza, Chinese dishes and commercial baby food containing onion, sometimes fed as a supplement to young pets, can cause illness.

While garlic also contains the toxic ingredient thiosulphate, it seems that garlic is less toxic and large amounts would need to be eaten to cause illness.

  • Funyun

  • Funyuns are mostly corn meal with a little bit of onion powder.

Unless he ate a whole bag, there probably isn’t enough onion content to cause a problem.

  • It will be alright. Speaking of which I was eating a bag of funyuns one and I left them at home with m dog .Turns out that he ate the whole bag. But he was fine!

  • As I’m sure you know, actual onions are very toxic to all dogs. Just check the ingredients to make sure that it is free of real onions. Also g ɾąքҽ s are toxic…I just found that one out recently. If your dog only consumed one, I wouldn’t be too worried.

  • if its the funyun chip your dog will be fine if its only a couple. i have 2 shih-tzu s and i also have breeded shih-tzus and my dogs get into everything.

your dog might puke a lil bit but put it outside for a few minutes so it can get some air and grass if it wants it

dont worry your dog will be fine

  • I have two dogs and I’m glad I never gave them onions. I had no idea they could harm dogs. Good question!

  • No, she can have almost anything u have in small proportions, unless a known allergy is about…it is cats that r not supposed to eat onions for exact reason i dont recall, something about their blood tho. Anyways, anything with caffeine or lots of sugars may not be goodd, but almost anything else, specially fresh fruits and veggies r just as good for them as u, if u can get them to eat them. Try “playing with a small apple or wedges…it cleans the dogs teeth…:) So enjoy smart snacking with your pets!!
