# What is 5/6 of 24? How did you get your answer?

0

My son had a math paper with some fractions on it. This was one of them I tried to help him but I wasn’t sure how to help him.

• “of” means multiply

therefore

(5/6) x 24 = 5(24)/6

• 1/6 of 24= 4 4 times 5 = 20 so 5/6 of 24 = 20

• an easy way is to just type it into the calculator (5/6)24.

here is another way: first, you can find 1/6 of 24 by multiplying 24 by 1/6 which ends up being 4. since the fraction is 5/6 (not just 1/6) you multiply 4 and 5 to get 20.

hopefully that wasnt too confusing! 😀

• You say 5/6 X 24/1 and cross multiply.

The answer is 20.

• 20.

In plain words rather than an equation:

When you divide 24 by 6, you get 4. (6 x 4 = 24)

5 fours is 20. (5 x 4 = 20)

• “of” means multiplication

so

5/6 *24 = (5*24)/ 6 = 120/6 = 20

• 5/6 of 24 is 20

do 5/6 x 24 ! =)

• You just multiply (5/6) * 24.

So (5*24)/6 = (120)/6 = 20

(5/6) x (24) = 120/6 = 20

or you can just think of it as what times 6 makes 24? its 4, therefore 6 x 4 = 24, 5 x 4 = 20

• 20.

5 over 6 times 24 is 24 times 5 divided by 6, which is 120 divided by 6, so you reduce that to 20.
