printer : consumables depends on TYPE of printer
Laser class : Toners, Fuser (generally a consumable), transfer belt (colour lasers), OPC drum (sometimes 4 on colour machines), transfer roller, feed rollers
Inkjet printer : Ink tanks
Dot Matrix / daisywheel printer : Ink ribbon
MP3 players and scanners DO NOT have consumables, as they do not “consume” anything

‘Consumables’ would be anything that you consume or an item that is depleted as you use your machine (printer), and needs to be replenished when finished. Parts that are slowly worn down be wear and tear over the expected life of the machine, such as the gears are not counted. The consumables of an Ink Jet printer would then be the ink cartridges and the paper. The print head or nozzle may be considered a consumable depending on the type of ink jet printer. Some printers have the nozzles built in to the cartridges that gets replaced with every new cartridge, others have separate nozzles.
Laser printer consumables include the paper, toner cartridge and OPC drum. The organic photo conductor (OPC) drum needs to be replaced periodically when printing deteriorates.
Dot Matrix printer consumables are the paper, ink ribbon, print head and the platen (the rubber roller that is behind the paper).
MP3 players, scanners and digital cameras don’t really have consumables, except for maybe the battery if it’s non-rechargeable. Hope this helps.
