1 = 1, or 1 to the 1st power
2 = 2×2, or 2 to the 2nd power
27 = 3×3×3, or 3 to the 3rd power
3125 = 5×5×5×5×5, or 5 to the 5th power
Looks like the missing number is 4 to the 4th power, 4×4×4×4=256

27 is 3 x 3 x 3
3125 is 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5
the missing number is 256= 4^4 which is 4 x 4 x 4 x 4=256
