x^2 + x = x(x+1)
It can be simplified to x(x+1).
X^2 + X
X squared can not combine with anything other than something that is squared. therefore, it’s already simplified.
and for everyone who put down 3X, think about it, look at the following.
X plus X plus X equals 3x
if X squared plus X equals 3X,
than X plus X plus X equals X squared plus X
subtract x from both sides
X plus X equals X squared
statement is false, therefore’ it can’t be 3x

It’s not x cubed because the only way you could add exponents is if you’re multiplying x^2 with x.
Plus, it’s not 2x^2 because the x only has a power of 1 while x^2 has a power of 2. They’re not like terms.
To tell you the truth, I don’t think there’s any solution for this problem except x^2 + x and x(x + 1).
