Who created God?

NetherCraft 0

I don’t have a religion and I’m not an atheist. I just want a straight up answer of who created God. My friend is a Christian and she said that God created everything, does that mean he also created himself? He couldn’t have always existed because that’s impossible. Who create God?

I’m talking about the Christian God,” my friend is CHRISTIAN and she said that God created everything”

  • How does the Bible answer? Essentially, in much the same way as did the father in our example. Moses wrote: “O Jehovah, . . . before the mountains were born or you brought forth the earth and the productive land, from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.” (Psalm 90:1, 2) Likewise, the prophet Isaiah exclaimed: “Do you not know? Have you not heard? Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, is a God for all eternity”! (Isaiah 40:28) Similarly, the letter of Jude refers to God as existing “for all past eternity.”—Jude 25.

    Those scriptures show us that God is “the King of eternity,” as the apostle Paul describes him. (1 Timothy 1:17) This means that God has always existed, no matter how far back in time we cast our gaze. And he will always exist in the future. (Revelation 1:8) Thus, his eternal existence is a fundamental attribute of the Almighty.

    Why do we find this idea difficult to grasp? Because our limited life span gives us a completely different concept of time from that of Jehovah. Because God is eternal, to him a thousand years are like a day. (2 Peter 3:8) To illustrate: Could a grasshopper, which lives as an adult for only about 50 days, fathom our life span of 70 or 80 years? Hardly! Yet, the Bible explains that we are like grasshoppers in comparison with our Grand Creator. Even our ability to reason is dwarfed by his. (Isaiah 40:22; 55:8, 9) So it is not surprising that there are aspects of Jehovah’s nature that escape full human understanding.

    Although the concept of an eternal God may be hard to grasp, we can see that it makes sense. If someone else had created God, that person would be the Creator. Yet, as the Bible explains, Jehovah is the one who “created all things.” (Revelation 4:11) Furthermore, we know that the universe at one time did not exist. (Genesis 1:1, 2) Where did it come from? Its Creator had to exist first. He also existed before there were any other intelligent beings, such as his only-begotten Son and the angels. (Job 38:4, 7; Colossians 1:15) Clearly, then, he existed alone first. He could not have been created; nothing was in existence that could have created him.

    Our own existence and that of the entire universe testifies to the existence of an eternal God. The One who put our vast universe in motion, the One who established the laws to control it, must have always existed. Only he could have breathed life into everything else.—Job 33:4.

  • Well, you ask a Christian and they say that God is eternal, outside of space and time, all that jazz. Which dresses up that issue nicely and it seems to make sense.

    Then you start thinking. He is outside of space and time. So….where is God? He seems to be timeless. Well, things that are timeless can’t change. Since time can only be mesured by the possiblity of change, even if change doesn’t occur. So in being timeless, God does not change. Which would imply that since God does not change, since he is timeless, he couldn’t have made anything.

    But to play along, lets say he can affect one universe from outside of it. Clearly, for a being to create such intricate and complex structures and ideas in the universe, it would need to be IMMENSELY powerful. And on the assumption he was not created this makes sense. Until someone makes the argument about how humans couldn’t possibly exist by “accident” because they are too complex. Wouldn’t then the thing that created them be too complex to simply appear? To simply be? Then HE must have been created as well. By something that God considers immensely powerful. God’s god if you will.

    But this brings the line of thinking of each thing being more complex than the last, and therefore requiring a creator, then it never ends. So nothing created God because he can’t exist in this defintion.

  • The fact of the matter, Nobody created God, God has always existed from the beginning of the world, that is why is it written I am the Alpha an Omega the beginning and the end, the first and the last. God has always existed, because God is eternal, and we can’t understand that with are little minds, because some things we just are not supposed to understand, it is just like trying to cure the common cold, it will never happen, because God is in control of are immune system, and God is the one who brings plagues upon us if we sin against a holy God, just like in Egypt day when they did not listen to Moses to let his people go, so God send a plague upon Egypt, and God will do the same to us if we disobey God commandments and laws.

  • This is a hard one to answer. I have thought about this for more than 50 yrs and the only thing I can come up with is the fact that we do exist and with the understanding that every thing has to have a beginning with the knowledge that we have tells me that IF God does exist God must exist in a realm of existence that we do not now know nor may ever understand! After all no one can say that they know everything that is!!!!!!

  • No, it is not impossible for an Unlimited Divine Being to always exist. Energy and matter cannot be created or destroyed only made to change form, therefore, existence and God are eternal and uncaused, without beginning and end. Existence is inclusive of the totality of all things, which is not different from God, as omnipresence implies. We use the word ‘creation’ as a linguistic convenience for the sequential change of perceptual observation of linear material form and content going from ‘this’ to ‘that’. God is not limited to the material paradigm, as God is the Source. Your question is like asking, “what is more ‘red’ than red?” What is wetter than water? Just as ‘water’ is not subject to getting ‘wet’, it is wet, yet, the source of ‘wetness’, God is not subject to creation, but is creation itself and the Source of it.

    Shape and form are transient and subject to coming and going, but essence remains and is everlasting. The nature of everything is essentially formless. The tangible world is perceived to be physical and is in reality an arrangement of intangible, nonphysical subatomic particles that never touch, with vast regions of infinite space between them. All detectable energy and matter is only 4% of the entire universe, the remaining 96% is nonlinear “dark” energy and matter. The material world of form and content is only the superficial surface of existence, and a result of the formless. The formlessness of the sky allows clouds to arise and take form. It is the ever-present background of silence and stillness that makes sound and motion recognizable.

  • Allah is for forever !

    if everything had a creator then the list of creators will never end meaning no god since creator of all must be some one who isnt created or just is uncreated being who exists for forever.

    so we call this 1 forever living being allah who created everything but is uncreated and allah is not everywhere but in his throne up in heaven.

    “Allah! There is no god but He – the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep. His are all things In the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth? He knoweth What (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they encompass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth. His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory).”

    [Surah al-Baqarah 2: 255]

    Say, “He is Allah , [who is] One,

    Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

    Allah , the Eternal Refuge.

    Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

    He neither begets nor is born,

    He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

    Nor is there to Him any equivalent.”

    And there is none like unto Him. Surat Al-‘Ikhlāş

  • Man created God in his own image.

  • No one knows the origin of God. Anyone who claims to know is lying!

    But just because we don’t know where God came from does not mean we can’t see His divine intelligence and design in all that has been made

  • God always was, is, and will be, eternal. He was never created, and will never be destroyed. Nothing is impossible for God.

  • There is the great spirit. That is God. That is who the Indians understood as the one God of all. It gets more complicated but I don’t think anyone is wrong.
