There is a great deal of debate over who wrote what portions of the Bible. Generally speaking, the 66 books are credited to about 40 or so authors. The wikipedia article deals with both traditional and modern views of who the authors were. In several instances, some of the books are credited to more than one person.

The Holy Bible was written by Shepherds, Kings, prophets, apostles, disciples, fishermen…
It is the inspired Word of God. The Holy Spirit used men (mentioned above) over 2500 year period on four different continents. It is all interwoven and all leads to Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
It applies as much to our lives today as it did when it was written.
More Bible facts…
When the Bible was being transcribed, if there was a mistake made on a page, the page was thrown out and they began again. Great care was taken when the scribes worked on it. This was passed on generation to generation.
We know this because when the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and most of the book of Isaiah was contained in it, when they translated it, it matched almost word for word. (There are some Hebrew words that can not be translated into English.)
(During the “Dark Ages” there were very few people that owned a bible. It was very expensive to have it translated and there were not many translators.)
32% of the New Testament are quotes from the Old Testament.
Paul wrote 2/3 of the New Testament.
Luke, wasn’t an apostle but a doctor and the only Gentile to write two books of the New Testament. He studied under Paul.
Mark was not an apostle, either. He studied under Peter.

The Bible is also unique because of the claim made by many of its writers. Some 40 individuals, including kings, shepherds, fishermen, civil servants, priests, at least one general, and a physician, had a hand in writing the different parts of the Bible. But time and again, the writers made the same claim: that they were writing not their own thoughts but God’s.
Thus, in the Bible we often read expressions such as: “The spirit of Jehovah it was that spoke by me, and his word was upon my tongue” or, “This is what the Sovereign Lord, Jehovah of armies, has said.” (2 Samuel 23:2; Isaiah 22:15) In a letter sent to a fellow evangelizer, the apostle Paul wrote: “All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.”—2 Timothy 3:16, 17.
In harmony with the claim that it is God’s word, not man’s, the Bible answers questions that only God can answer. It explains, for example, why human governments have not been able to bring lasting peace, how humans can find the deepest satisfaction in life, and what the future holds for the earth and mankind upon it. Now, as a thinking person, you must have wondered about these and similar questions many times. Why not at least consider the possibility that the Bible is God’s Word and thus uniquely able to give authoritative answers?

All scripture is inspired by God, written by men. Eg. Moses wrote the first five books of the bible, then Joshua wrote the book of Joshua, the major and minor prophet books were written by the prophets themselves, a lot of the new testament letters were written by Paul; if you read the Bible, usually at the beginning of each book you are told in a short paragraph a background about each book and who the author is.
Hope this is helpful x

The bible was actually written by quite a few people. There are many different “books” in the bible written by different people, most who were Jesus’ disciples. The New Testament was written based on the knoweldge and faith the disciples received from Jesus, and the Old Testament was written by true prophets that God spoke to.

All sorts of people. Current analysis says the Pentateuch was composed from at least four separate versions. The earlier prophets were written by court historians. The latter prophets were written by the scribes of the prophets. The other writings were written by a variety of people, some out of piety, some to organize their concept of “wisdom” and some even in protest of other books. The Christian gospels were written by a variety of Christians motivated to preserve their founding history before it was forgotten. And the letters were penned by missionary preachers exhorting their established churches toward faithfulness.
Anyone can write a book. Whether that book is regarded as a Bible book is up to the recognized leaders of the faith, who can determine whether its ideas are compatible with the rest of the scriptures.

The Roman Emperor Constantine produced the bible and he was a pagan not god!!! He also organized Christianity into the Holly Roman Catholic Church!! Not in Israel or any of the countries of supposed origin but entirely Italian!!
Not one word of it is contemporary with the period and was not written until many years after the period the story is set in!!
What a wonder full disinformation and deception campaign he waged against his Christian enemies – so good in fact that Christians are still following the deception to this day!!!

To tell you the truth, Technically speaking humans did. Spiritually speaking with the inspiration of Jehovah God. (2Timothy 3:16-17) Which really means, that Jehovah used his active force or holy spirit to put the thoughts of the writers into their heads. (Genesis1:2; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

No, the Who wrote a lot of good music in the 60s and 70s but they didn’t write the bible.

It was written by men with the direction of the Holy Spirit (who is God).
Whether you’re 5 or 39 you deserve a true answer.
By the way, who do you want it to have been written by?
