why is it necessary to calibrate a thermometer and volumetric glassware?

  • Poorly calibrated instruments produce a greater amount of systematic errors. These types of errors cause your data to be precise (indicated by the agreement between measurements) but not accurate (how close a measure is to the accepted value).

In other words, instruments that are not calibrated properly will cause your measurements to be quite far from the actual measurement.

    Hope that helped. 🙂
