Why is my internet redirecting to “gslbeacon.ligit.com” and how do I STOP THIS?

NetherCraft 0

This has been going on for about a week…

Every time I try to watch a video on Youtube from my laptop… I get instantly redirected to “gslbeacon.ligit.com.”

Luckily this page isn’t displayed but it is really annoying and I’m getting worried about my laptop. Before this happens… I get a download notice for something called “dpx.js” from “i.simpli.fi.” I don’t ever click yes and it still comes up. I have Norton 360 and have ran as many scans as I can but it makes no difference.

Please tell me why this is happening… or even better, please tell me how to REMOVE this problem.

Thanks.

  • Interesting I dont Know if this will help but it might…

If you are using Google Chrome I would suggest opening The Little Tab Menu –

                                                                                                                -

                                                                                                                -

and going to Settings Once there Click the Tab on the right Saying “Extensions” and Viewing What Extensions you have enabled IF you see anything suspicious Delete the Extension And Check All your installed Programs and Again look for anything Weird or “Suspicious” I would also recommend Doing a Whole Computer Scan With Norton you Might Have a virus

Hope this Helps Sorry if it doesn’t 🙁

  • By NO Means Use SAFE MODE as suggested by Malwaretips. Not all Malware loads in Safe Mode and Removal tools are limited in their functions. Malware is best to remove in Normal Windows mode, Best when it’s jumping all over the screen. If no other option is possible, then Safe mode can be used but only as a last resort

    Run in the Order Given:

    Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/antirootkit/

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit from the link above

Run the file and follow the onscreen instructions to extract it to a location of your choosing (your desktop by default)

Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit will then open, follow the instruction in the wizard to update and allow the program to scan your computer for threats

Click on the Cleanup button to remove any threats and reboot if prompted to do so

Wait while the system shuts down and the cleanup process is performed

Perform another scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit to verify that no threats remain. If they do, then click Cleanup once more and repeat the process

If no additional threats were found, verify that your system is now running normally, making sure that the following items are functional: Internet access, Windows Update, Windows Firewall

If there are additional problems with your system, such as any of those listed above or other system issues, then run the ‘fixdamage’ tool included with Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit located within the ‘Plugins’ folder and reboot

Verify that your system is now functioning normally

Use Malwarebytes’ Antimalware to check for any nasty’s and to remove any PUP’s

NOTE: Decline the Free Trial of Malwarebytes Pro for now. Not needed for detection nor removal. They do that for Free. You may try it at a later date if you so wish

NOTE: To have Malwarebytes check for PUP’s:

    Open the program>>Settings Tab>>Scanner Settings

On ” Action for potentially unwanted programs(PUP)”

Click the arrow and change to “show in results list and check for removal”

    Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware

Go to Update tab and select Check for Updates. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

Go to Scanner tab and select Perform (1)Quick Scan, then click (2)Scan.

The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.

When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart
